On October 10 and 17 2005 Jan Krammer has given two free Workshops Old Jazz in Community Centre Dukenburg located in the Meijhorst in Nijmegen city, the Netherlands.

The purpose of it was, to teach especially YOUNG people the VIVID atmosphere of what JAZZ traditionally is, hoping that this playful, extravert, good-humored and therefore in fact EVER YOUNG music will never perish!

Due to his brain tumor Jan Krammer could hardly talk anymore in the days of the workshops, but he has managed to pass on his ideas very clearly nevertheless, by letting type them out and read them aloud by his daughter and by his rhythmical playing, vivid charisma and by radiating his warm smile towards the people unabatedly.

Unfortunately Jan has passed away before he played in midi-files to join the text of the jazz workshops on this website. That is regrettable above all, because we know how virtuosic ally he could do that. His sense of rhythm is unique and this style of music is really his thing.

In the coming months we will fill up the text of the two Workshops Old Jazz by means of his own repertoire, possibly in combination with parts played in by ourselves.

On behalf of Jan we invoke all the young people to let themselves inspire by it, so that this lively style of playing music will never perish!
